Terms of the purchase were not disclosed. But the acquisition boosts Woolpert’s design and planning capabilities and strengthens its roster of clients, the company said in a release.

“We conducted a nationwide search for an architecture firm with an impeccable reputation for quality design and excellence in customer service,” Scott Cattran, Woolpert president and chief executive, said in the company’s announcement. “We wanted a firm that would expand our military architecture portfolio to the Navy and Army and add to our growing portfolio of projects with the Air Force, education and athletic institutions, as well as municipal clients.”
Both companies have worked with municipalities, the military, schools and commercial clients, completing more than 2,000 projects, Woolpert said.
“Woolpert’s talented, forward-thinking staff affords us the essential resources to further our support locally, as well as expand our worldwide reach,” said David Isbell, president of Waller, Todd & Sadler. “We are all very excited to begin this new chapter.”
This acquisition follows a New York investment firm taking a stake in the local company, a recapitalization completed in late 2017, the addition of “strategic consulting” services last March and a corporate restructuring completed more recently, Woolpert said.
Founded in Dayton in 1911, Woolpert today is based on the Beavercreek side of County Line Road and has more than 800 employees and 28 offices nationwide.
