Woolpert part of key UC contract

Local engineering firm Woolpert has won a University of Cincinnati College of Business project with KZF Design and will be providing civil engineering, structural engineering and landscape architecture services, the company said Monday.

The 225,000-square-foot, $100 million facility will be built on the university’s main campus near the College of Business, which will be torn down after the new school is occupied. The new facility will more than double the size of the current one.

“It highlights our fully integrated engineering solutions—civil, structural, MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) and landscape architecture,” Andrew Pack, Woolpert vice president, said in a statement from the company. “Having multiple engineering services in-house allows us to better coordinate and collaborate, and streamlines the decision-making process.”

KZF Design is the project’s architect of record.

The conceptual design process has begun for this project, which is expected to break ground in summer 2017. The new UC College of Business is scheduled to open for classes in fall 2019.

Beavercreek-based Woolpert has 213 employees at its headquarters and 609 total at 24 offices across the country.
