Home in community with clubhouse, pond, walking paths
Contributing Writer
Located in the Lakewood Commons Yankee Trace, 55-and-older community, this brick ranch has volume ceilings that create open social areas and four versatile bedrooms within its floor plan.
Listed for $299,900 by Bill Lee and Associates Inc., the home at 1416 Holes Creek has about 2,340 square feet of living space. The brick home was built in 2004 and is tucked back within the community. There is a pond, gazebo and walking paths nearby, and at the entrance of the neighborhood is a clubhouse or community building.
A concrete driveway leads to the two-car garage, and a wide sidewalk leads to the covered main entrance.
Oak hardwood flooring fills the entrance foyer and continues into the great room, breakfast room, a kitchen and four-season Florida room. Bathrooms and the laundry room have ceramic-tile flooring, and the bedrooms have neutral carpeting.
Off the foyer hallway is a guest bath with a tub/shower and single-sink vanity and a bedroom, which has a cathedral ceiling, a sliding-door closet and an arched ceiling. Directly to the left off the entrance is a staircase that leads to a finished bonus space above the garage. The space has been used as a guest bedroom with sliding-door closet, side window and an angled ceiling. There is a private full bathroom with walk-in shower and single-sink vanity.
Back on the main level and at the center of the house is the great room, which has a vaulted ceiling. Tucked into one corner is a gas fireplace with ceramic hearth and wood-capped mantel. A bedroom is accessible off the great room. This room was used as a more casual sitting room or family room.
An angled peninsula counter divides the kitchen from the breakfast room, which is open to the great room. The two-level peninsula has solid-surface countertops. The higher level allows for breakfast bar seating for up to four while the lower level has a double sink.
Oak cabinetry fills two walls of the kitchen and includes a pantry cabinet with roll-out shelves. Appliances include a range, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator.
Just across the hallway is a pantry closet, and the short hallway leads to the laundry room with wash sink. The laundry room provides access to the two-car garage, which has two storage nooks and the utility closet.
Two floor-to-ceiling windows and a glass door fill the breakfast room with natural light. A door opens into a Florida room, which has an oak floor, six sets of windows with blinds, ceiling paddle fan and a glass door that opens to a semi-private concrete patio and open back yard.
Also off the breakfast room is the main bedroom, which has a picture window and a private bathroom that includes a double-sink vanity, triple-mirror medicine cabinets, a walk-in shower and walk-in closet.
