Dayton traffic patrols to focus on crash-causing behaviors

A series of traffic enforcement initiative will focus on curbing crash-causing behaviors in the Dayton area.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Dayton Police Department and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office plan participate in three enforcement initiatives scheduled through the Thanksgiving holiday.

The enforcement patrols will take place on the following:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 24, from 4:30 to 11 p.m.: State Route 48 and Turner Road
  • Saturday, Nov. 27, from noon to 6 p.m.: U.S. 35, I-75 and Salem and Turner roads

During the patrols law enforcement officers will be focusing on reckless driving, impaired driving and speeding.

Two millions Ohioans are expected to hit the over the Thanksgiving holiday, the fourth highest number of travelers, according to AAA. Locally, 159,500 people in the Miami Valley are projected to travel for the holiday. It’s a 14% increase from last year, AAA reported.
