It’s the fifth consecutive year Miami, which has more than 3,700 employees, has made the magazine’s annual Top 50 list.
“Miami remains deeply committed to providing positive student outcomes. Our faculty and staff are integral to building an inclusive community where we all can succeed,” Miami President Gregory Crawford noted in a statement released by the university.
“That kind of collaborative, cohesive outlook is so important to a thriving and prosperous environment,” said Crawford.
Besides Miami’s main campus in Oxford, the university also has regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown as well as a Learning Center in West Chester Twp.
Miami is southwest Ohio’s second largest university – after the University of Cincinnati - and classes began Monday for its more than 22,000 students.
Miami was also rated 6th among other Ohio universities and colleges that made the state’s top 50 list.
Cleveland State University earned a 4th ranking while Dayton’s Sinclair Community College was 9th and Ohio State University was 14th.
Also among Ohio’s top 50 among schools were: Kent State University at 28th and Ohio University at 30th and the University of Cincinnati at 47th.
According to Forbes magazine, the annually complied rankings were created through its partnership with market research firm Statista to survey more than 160,000 employees working for companies with at least 500 people within the United States.
Survey participants were asked how likely they were to recommend their employer on a scale of zero to 10. The survey resulted in 1,294 organizations compiled into a list of “America’s Best-In-State Employers 2024,” said Forbes officials.
Crawford said: “To be consistently ranked among Ohio’s top employers is a testament to the dedication of our faculty and staff to the university’s mission.
“We strive to maintain our high standards of delivering a top-notch curricular and co-curricular experience for our students.”
Ohio’s top employer, according to Forbes’ top 50 list, was Cincinnati-based, Fortune 500 company Procter & Gamble.
Other non-education, top ranking organizations included Dayton-based Children’s Hospital at 31st and CareSource of Dayton at 46th.
