2 men shot, transported to hospital in Dayton

Two men who were shot in Dayton were transported to Miami Valley Hospital Thursday evening.

Details on their conditions are not available at this time.

The shooting was reported at 6:20 p.m. in the 600 block of Eleanor Avenue, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

A man called 911 after one of the shooting victims walked to his porch near the corner of Eleanor and Jerome avenues and started calling for help, according to 911 records.

“My wife said he’s on our porch,” he said. “They got shot at the corner but he walked over here. She said he got out of a car and we just heard seven shots. And then we heard out there hollering, ‘Someone please help, help, help.’”

The 911 caller did not see what type of vehicle the man got out of or who shot the man.
