On July 9, Miller went inside an unlocked apartment in the 300 block of North Smithville Road and began taking items and putting them in his car while the resident wasn’t home, according to a court affidavit.

A maintenance man saw Miller and called the woman who lived there. She returned to the apartment and confronted Miller. She also alerted her neighbors who followed Miller to his car.

“Miller attempted to flee after committing the burglary, but was confronted,” the affidavit read.

Two males reportedly saw the stolen items in Miller’s car and took his key fob to prevent him from leaving.

Miller got into a fight with one of the males, later identified as a 16-year-old, and stabbed him multiple times, according to court records.

Initial records indicated that Miller also was stabbed during the incident.

The 16-year-old was taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital by a private vehicle.

Miller is held in the Montgomery County Jail following his arrest Thursday morning in the 1300 block of Chardon Court, according to the jail website.
