People can call 937-333-1232 to speak with Dayton Police Department detective or can submit anonymous tips to Miami Valley Crime Stoppers at 937-222-STOP (7867) or www.miamivalleycrimestoppers.com.

The man was taken to Miami Valley Hospital in critical but stable condition, said Dayton police Lt. Steven Bauer. The suspect is known to the victim.

Around 8:50 p.m., police responded to a shooting reported in the 1000 block of Philadelphia Drive.

“Someone just got shot on my street,” a 911 caller told the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

The 911 caller reported hearing 10 to 12 gunshots fired and saw the shooter run up the street, leaving the gunshot victim in the middle of the road calling for help.

When police arrived, they found a 32-year-old man who had been injured.

While investigating, a car drove through crime scene tape and through a blocked off portion of the road, said Dayton police Sgt. Jeffery Spires.

The sergeant reminded people to not drive through blocked off portions of the road, as it put lives in dangers while crews are walking around and investigating. No officers were injured.

The shooting remains under investigation. We will update this story as more information is available.
