A 911 caller said the shooting was accidental and that the victim was shot in the stomach, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center records.
Dayton police said the suspect told them he “inadvertently” shot the victim, who was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.
The shooting suspect was booked into jail on a preliminary negligent assault charge but no formal charges have been filed.
