Man indicted on murder charges in March house fire in Trotwood

A 29-year-old man was indicted Monday on murder charges in the March death of a man found dead after a Trotwood house fire.

Savon Anthony Davis of Clayton is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court for four counts of murder, two counts each of aggravated burglary and felonious assault, as well as single counts of aggravated arson and having weapons while under disability. All but the arson and weapons charges also carry a three-year firearm specification.

Jaykwan D. Hardy was identified as the man found dead following the March 11 fire at a house in the 5300 block of Gardendale Avenue in Trotwood.

Trotwood firefighters found Hardy and multiple dogs inside the house, Trotwood police said fatality was under investigation as a homicide.

Davis was arrested May 11 during a traffic stop on Salem Avenue.

He remains held on $1 million bail in the Montgomery County Jail.
