A man shot and killed early Saturday during a domestic violence incident was identified Monday evening as 36-year-old Brian J. Gerth by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

The Englewood Police Department said that a man now identified as Gerth was shot and killed around 2:45 a.m. Saturday at a house in the 1000 block of Michele Court after an argument between household members that Sgt. Mike Lang said was fueled in part by intoxication.

A woman who called 911 said her boyfriend pulled on a gun on her and that her son shot him.

Nobody else was injured, and the shooting is being investigated as self-defense, Lang said.
