A man was stabbed Wednesday evening after he reportedly confronted a group of loiterers in Xenia Twp.

The incident was reported around 5 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Hickman Road.

“The victim confronted approximately four to five subjects who were loitering in the area and an altercation resulted in the adult male victim suffering from a stab wound,” said Capt. Kelly Edwards of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

A woman who called 911 said her 42-year-old son was jumped by four or five men when one of them stabbed her son in the chest.

The men fled in a car described as a mid- to late 1990s model maroon Chevrolet Impala with an out-of-state license plate, according to the sheriff’s office.

No one has been taken into custody.
