Man found dead in Harrison Twp., likely hit by vehicle

A man who was found dead along a road last week in Harrison Twp. is believed to have been struck by a vehicle.

Mark Danley, 58, of Dayton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crews responded around 7:25 a.m. Aug. 15 to a report of an unresponsive person on the side of the road in the 3200 block of Philadelphia Drive, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

A man called 911 to report spotting a possibly deceased man in front of an empty house.

“He’s not moving at all,” the caller said, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center records released Tuesday.

When deputies arrived, they found a person who appeared to have been hit by a vehicle, according to a press release. The vehicle was not at the scene. The Harrison Twp. Fire Department pronounced the person, later identified as Danley, deceased at the scene.
