Police were called to a house in Huber Heights after a father reportedly shot his adult son Thursday afternoon.

According to a Friday press release, officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of Millhoff Drive just after 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day in reference to a shooting between family members.

One 911 caller reported an argument led to the shooting, but the 78-year-old father called 911 and told police that the son had “gone berserk,” beat on the door and threatened the father and his wife.

Upon arrival, officers located a 51-year-old man lying in the driveway with a single gunshot wound to the torso, the release states. The man, who was conscious, had reportedly been shot by his father. Neither individual was named in the statement.

The victim was transported to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time, according to police.

The shooting reportedly occurred during an argument. Detectives from the Huber Heights police are continuing to investigate.
