A woman suspected of shooting and killing a man Wednesday evening in Dayton has been found, police said.

Dayton police asked for the public’s help Thursday to find the woman they identified as 37-year-old Cierra Jett who was considered armed. Police later said that “she’s been located.” However, it was not immediately clear whether she is in custody, and no charges have been filed against her.

Police responded around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a man shot in the 100 block of Fountain Avenue, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

A 911 caller said a woman shot a man in the stomach inside a house but that she left on foot with the gun.

Medics pronounced the gunshot victim deceased at the scene.

His name has not yet been released pending notification of family, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
