SCAM ALERT: Dayton police dispatch phone number used in fraud scheme

The Dayton Police Department is warning the public that its non-emergency dispatch phone number is being used in scams.

Scammers are spoofing the number, 937-333-2677, so it appears they are calling from the police department and asking for money.

“NO #DaytonPolice personnel will ever call & ask for or demand money or payment,” the police department said on their Twitter page. “If you get this type of call hang up! Then report it to 937-333-2677.”
