Officers made contact with one of the involved motorists, a man driving a maroon Ford hatchback, on I-675 just north of Indian Ripple Road.
The second vehicle involved was a silver Ford work van, which continued north on I-675 and then traveled west on U.S. 35 into Riverside, where the driver called police. The second driver suffered minor injuries, but police said it could not be determined whether the injury was a result of a bullet or debris. The man was expected to be released Wednesday from Miami Valley Hospital.
Both vehicles were struck by multiple rounds, and police said there were no further reports of injuries or other vehicles struck by gunfire.
Beavercreek police said the case will be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for review of charges once the investigation is complete.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact the Beavercreek police detective Casey McCain at 937-426-1225.
In a statement, Beavercreek police said that road rage is never a good path to follow.
“Thankfully, there were no serious injuries as a result of this behavior to the parties involved or innocent bystanders.”
