WATCH: Body camera footage shows multi-county pursuit, standoff in Miamisburg

Body and cruiser camera footage from the Miamisburg Police Department showed more of a multi-county pursuit and standoff that closed the Linden Avenue for about a week.

Cruiser camera footage picked up the chase already in progress the afternoon of Aug. 16, showing a stolen Chevrolet Silverado driven by Johnathan Edward Brown, 32, of Trenton, that was heavily damaged, leaning far over to one side followed by several cruisers from different jurisdictions.

The Miamisburg cruiser follows the pursuit until it stops at the bridge over the Great Miami River.

Body camera footage showed law enforcement setting up a line of cruisers behind the stricken pickup truck.

One officer can be heard calling out to Brown over a loudspeaker, repeatedly telling him to put both hands out of the window. Eventually Brown can be seen putting one hand out of the window.

Another officer can be heard saying that Brown was holding a gun in his other hand and the officer wearing the body camera steps away from the front line of cruisers to organize further response.

However, shortly after an officer asks whether anyone had notified CSX Railroad — which has tracks across the road on the far end of the bridge — a train whistle sounds, followed by the sound of squealing rubber.

The officer runs back to the front in time to see Brown drive the heavily damaged pickup truck across the bridge and crash into the side of the passing train.

Later footage shows a SWAT team use a ram to open the driver’s door of the pickup and Brown gets out and stumbles in the brush.

Law enforcement orders Brown to crawl to them, and when he doesn’t a K-9 is sent to bring him to the ground.

Brown was wanted in connection to a Middletown Division of Police investigation, and the search for him began early Aug. 16 after the pickup truck, which had been reported stolen to the Hamilton Police Department, was found at a hotel in Butler Twp. When Brown came out of the hotel Butler County crews tried to detain him for questioning but Brown fled in the pickup truck, police said.

He was spotted again about two hours later on Interstate 75 south in Franklin, and when officers tried to stop him he fled again, leading to a multi-county chase that ended in the crash and hourslong standoff.

Brown was charged in Franklin Municipal Court with fleeing, receiving stolen property and obstructing official business, all felony charges. His case was bound over Aug. 23 to a Warren County Common Pleas Court grand jury, according to court records. Charges also are pending in Montgomery County, police said.

Brown is held on $250,000 bail in the Warren County Jail.
