A Xenia man is facing charges after a one person was severely injured and another person suffered minor injuries Tuesday evening after a reported stabbing.

Jayson McNeil, 31, was charged with two counts of felonious assault and one count each of abduction and possession of criminal tools, according to Xenia Municipal Court records.

According to a release from Xenia Police Division, police received a 911 call at 6:46 p.m. from a person saying their son had stabbed them at a house in the 2500 block of Childers Drive.

When officers arrived, they found two people who had been injured, one of whom had been injured severely and was taken to the hospital. The second victim suffered minor injuries.

Officers also found McNeil in the house. He was found bloody with minor injuries and requested no medical treatment.

McNeil allegedly stabbed the first victim several times and assaulted the second victim, according to a police incident report. He cut the first victim’s jugular and stomach, while causing injuries to the second victim’s arms and biting that person, the report said.

The “suspect was being held down by the second victim in the kitchen by the sink” when officers arrived, the report said.

McNeil’s two knives were found in the kitchen, the report said.

The first victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton by Xenia medics, and the second victim was treated at the scene.

After speaking with the victims, police arrested McNeil.

According to police, McNeil and the victims said that the incident began as a domestic dispute. One of the victims said that McNeil became upset when discussing his employment status, the report said.

The dispute turned violent when McNeil rushed at the first victim and stabbed them multiple times. The second victim suffered minor injuries in their attempt to remove McNeil from the first person, according to the report.

After consulting the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office, McNeil was charged with two counts of felonious assault, and will be arraigned at an unspecified time in Xenia Municipal Court.

He is in custody without bond in the Greene County Jail, police said.

Police asked that anyone with information on the incident call Xenia Police Division at 937-376-7206, call the Xenia Police Tip Line at 937-347-1623 or email lead investigator detective Brian Atkins at batkins@ci.xenia.oh.us.
