2018 Emmys nominations: ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Westworld,’ ‘The Handmaids Tale’ lead nods

Nominees for the 70th Emmy Awards were announced Thursday in Los Angeles, and “Game of Thrones” leads the pack.

Actors Samira Wiley and Ryan Eggold were at the Wolf Theatre at Saban Media Center as they announced the nominations.

“Game of Thrones” has 22 nominations, followed by “Saturday Night Live” and “Westworld,” each with 21 nominations and “The Handmaids Tale” with 20 nods.

First-time nominees include Tiffany Haddish for her hosting stint on “SNL,” Issa Rae for “Insecure,” John Legend for “Jesus Christ Superstar,” and Ricky Martin for “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.”

Among the networks, Netflix leads with 112 total nominations, followed by HBO with 108.

The 2018 Primetime Emmy Awards air live in Los Angeles Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. on NBC. “Saturday Night Live” comedians Michael Che and Colin Jost will co-host the show.
