He might be a die-hard Phillies fan, but actor Bruce Willis did not catch a break from Philadelphia fans when he bounced a ceremonial first pitch before Wednesday’s baseball game at Citizens Bank Park.

The way Philly fans saw it, Willis should not be moonlighting as a pitcher anytime soon.

Willis, who grew up in Carney’s Point in southern New Jersey, stood in front of the pitcher’s mound before the Phillies met the Milwaukee Brewers and tossed a left-handed pitch that bounced in front of ace Aaron Nola.

Probably having a sixth sense about the notoriously grouchy Philadelphia fans, Willis raised his right arm toward the crowd as he walked off the mound to a chorus of boos.

The media was just as critical.

"Don't quit your day job," Associated Press sports writer Dan Gelston tweeted.

Willis also took batting practice, according to KYW, but even though he wore No. 19, the actor's swings did not bring back memories of Greg Luzinski, the most prominent of the 40 players to wear that number for the Phillies.

As far as the fans were concerned, Willis was out of his element.
