Holzhauer, 34, a professional sports gambler from Las Vegas, won his 21st consecutive game during Thursday's "Jeopardy!" broadcast, earning $80,615 to boost his overall earnings on the popular game show to $1,608,627, CNN reported.
Holzhauer passes Julia Collins, who had 20 straight wins, and now only trails Ken Jennings, who won 74 consecutive matches, for consecutive victories, Vanity Fair reported. While Holzhauer may not match Jennings' mark for consecutive wins, he is in good position to top Jennings' record $2,520,700 in cash earnings.

The final clue from Thursday’s show was, "A character in this 1944 play is said to be like a piece of her own collection, 'too exquisitely fragile to move from the shelf.'"
The correct answer: "What is 'The Glass Menagerie?'"
Holzhauer uses a method called the "Forrest Bounce," in which he chooses tiles out of order and goes for the higher cash values early, CNN reported.
Holzhauer's next game will be aired Friday.
