Rapper T.I.’s sister, Precious Harris, died after having asthma attack, crashing car, report says

Update 4:24 p.m. EST Feb. 28: Precious Harris, the older sister of rapper T.I., has died at 66 after having an asthma attack while behind the wheel.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., posted a statement on Instagram confirming the news.

“While we are saddened that our beloved Precious is no longer with us, she will forever have a special place in our hearts and our family,” TIP wrote. “I was such a lucky man because you were my sister. You were there every step of the way... always helping me become my best self.

“I/we could not have done it without you.

Forever grateful.”

TMZ reported that, according to an Atlanta Police Department traffic report, Precious Harris had an asthma attack while driving her younger brother's 2013 Dodge Avenger. T.I.'s grandniece, Kairi Chapman, was in the passenger seat when Precious passed out and hit a telephone pole, according to the report.

After days in the ICU, she died.

Precious Harris’ daughter, Kamaya Harris, posted a tribute to her mother on Instagram.

T.I. has since posted a number of photos in tribute to his sister on his Instagram page since her death.

T.I. and Tiny have reportedly halted production on their VH1 reality show, "Family Hustle," while the rapper's sister, Precious Harris, was in the hospital, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Tameka "Tiny" Cottle posted a photo with her sister-in-law on Instagram, asking for prayers, as did Precious Harris' daughter, Kamaya.

The Atlanta couple, who had been having marital trouble the past couple of years but appear to be back together, took time out of their worry to celebrate Valentine's Day. T.I. gifted his wife a canary yellow diamond ring.
