“It’s a pretty extensive menu,” owner Tom Cunningham said. “Our customers rave about our short ribs. We have fresh sea food. Our scallops are outstanding.”
All salad dressing is made in house, as are the desserts.
Cunningham and his brother, Mike Cunningham — the oldest and youngest in a family of nine siblings from Cincinnati — have created an independent restaurant group of nine restaurants in Ohio and Indiana.
“All of our restaurants are unique,” he said. “Each one has its own personality, which is part of our trademark.”
Since the opening of the West Chester Twp. restaurant in the May of 2010, Cunningham said business has been booming.
“We’re having our best year yet,” he said. “Our customer loyalty is key to our success.”
Also, he said, meals are affordable at $15 and $26.
“One of our critical mission statements is to deliver value to the customer. Customers say the perception of the experience is much higher than the cost,” he said of the fine dining experience.
Located in the former Mesh restaurant, 6200 Muhlhauser Road, Cunningham said he jumped at the opportunity to acquire a space that already was designed for a restaurant.
“Mesh was a very night club-ish feel,” he said.
Transforming the building into a warm, calm atmosphere meant taking film off the windows to allow in natural light, putting up wood paneling on the walls and bringing in all new furniture.
A highlight of the decor is a temperature controlled wine showcase containing 2,000 bottles.
The lunch hour is busy, drawing from many of the surrounding businesses. Often, he said, customers have meetings or luncheons in the facility’s private dining rooms.
Specials in the evening, like half-price bottles of wine on Mondays and half-priced martinis on Wednesday, also are popular, he said.
