And it must be really good single-malt scotch whiskey: it costs a hefty $365 for a 1.7-ounce bottle.
It's called Petra, and it's the new "unisex fragrance" from luxury perfumer Seth Kornegay. Here's how a press release describes the new product:
“…Petra is one of the rarest and most interesting fragrances offered by Seth Kornegay, as it uniquely includes Islay single malt whiskey from the southernmost portion of the Inner Hebridean Islands located off the west coast of Scotland.
“The new unisex perfume expands the boundaries of traditional fragrance ingredients and tumbles over into the epicurean world. Islay single malt whiskey is known for its smoky character derived from peat, along with a hint of seaweed and salt, which many describe as a medicinal flavor. This enhances Petra and mixes well with the unisex perfume’s sensual amber notes melded with alpine freshness and a combination of white and dark wood notes blended with exotic, wild northern herbs and rare barks.”
Two questions come to my mind.
First, “unisex perfume?” Really? Wow, am I behind the times.
Second, do you have to be 21 to buy it?
And finally:
“I swear, officer, I haven’t had a drop to drink. That’s just my perfume that you’re smelling.”
