The film is inspired by a 2015 New York Magazine article titled "The Hustlers at Scores," which tells a Robin Hood-style story about exotic dancers who stole from their clients and kept the money for themselves.
Lopez, who is producing the film, confirmed the news on Twitter.

THR reported the film takes place in the late 2000s in New York.
“We could not have asked for a more exciting or talented lineup of performers to join our cast,” Adam Fogelson, chairman of STXfilms, said in a statement.
TheWrap reported filming starts March 22 in New York.
