While his tumultuous 14-year marriage to the late Whitney Houston has been well-documented over the years, his union with his second wife, Alicia Etheredge, has been mostly kept out of the spotlight−until now.

1. Brown and Etheredge met as teenagers.
The two met at a young age and became fast friends. He detailed the beginning of their relationship during an interview with "Access Hollywood" in 2012.
“We met many years ago, many years ago,” he said. “I believe I was about 18, and we were at a dance place, where people just go and work out their new moves … I met her there, and we became friends. We all hung out.”
2. She was a guest at Brown and Houston’s wedding.
The biopic revealed Etheredge attended Brown’s first nuptials in 1992. During a scene in the flick, she helped ease his nerves right before he walked down the aisle to say “I do” to Houston.
3. Etheredge works as Brown’s manager.
Brown asked Etheredge to manage him in 2008. Before joining his team, she had previously worked for music and sports stars, including Macy Gray and Magic Johnson, Brown once told Complex.
Mixing work and pleasure doesn't come without its challenges. "There is always conflict at times that arises," she told ABC News. "I think it's just when the two overlap."
4. Brown proposed to Etheredge during a concert performance
The artist popped the question while performing at the Funk Fest in Jacksonville, Florida, in May 2010. They wed two years later in June 2012 in a ceremony in Hawaii. They have two daughters and one son together.
5. Etheredge is among a family of business owners
Her sister, Kim Etheredge, is the co-founder of the hair product line Mixed Chicks. Her brother, Justin Etheredge, works in the film industry.
