“This gives us a chance to open up a little bit on our own music and share a little of that with the audience,” he continued. “It’s a nice balance.”
Albright, Braun and Logan return from 2018’s Summer Horns Tour. Lattimore stepped into the spot filled last year by Richard Elliot, who didn’t return for this tour. Guitarist Adam Hawley is also featured.
“I love being like the ringmaster at the circus, putting together different amazing talent,” Koz said. “Then I say, ‘Let’s see what happens when we do this?’ You put people together with the right mindset and they put their ego off to the side. When they come to the show with the passion to create the best show possible for our guests, it’s amazing.
“I can tell you this group of artists is doing that night after night,” Koz continued. “For me, my job is easy. I just sit back with a big smile on my face and watch the magic unfold right before my very eyes.”
Having this configuration of people together doesn’t happen every day, which makes this tour a special attraction for the fans and the participating musicians.
“We’re playing places where we’re there, not every single summer, but most summers,” Koz said. “I’m cognizant of the fact you have people that want to come back every year so you can’t do the exact same show. You have to be able to show some new things and take people on different aspects of this journey. Hopefully, with some creativity, we can do a show for people year after year where they really look forward to coming to see what we have up our sleeves next year.
“And for anybody that came last year, this show will be a step in a new direction,” he added. “It will give them something that’s really different from what they saw last year.”
