Billed as “Dayton’s oldest jazz club," Jazz Central features Sunday night jam sessions (for 40 years running) from 8 p.m. until midnight every week. Friday nights feature blues music. Patrons rave about the drink prices, the staff and the local talent on stage.

Gilly's

Gilly’s has also long been known as a jazz and blues haven to Dayton listeners. Owner Gerald Gillotti even hosted his own jazz radio show years ago. The club has opened itself up to other types of music in recent years, so fans should check the schedule for updates. The Dayton Blues Society will hold its “Road To Memphis” Blues Challenge this Sunday from noon until 8 pm.

Crown Plaza Hotel
