The K12 Gallery and Tejas at 341 Jefferson St. in Dayton was once the site of S & V Office Supply. So it’s only fitting that someone came up with the clever idea of hosting a used furniture sale there to raise funds for the art studio.
Thanks to a generous donation from the University of Dayton, more 300 pieces of furniture ranging anywhere from classroom chairs to home furnishings will be up for grabs beginning this Saturday. This is the first year for the sale, which is expected to last the remainder of the month or until the last piece is sold.
Items up for grabs at rock bottom prices will include:
-Tables
-Chairs
-Dining room furniture
-Dorm room furniture
-Shop furniture
-Studio furniture
“We’ve had other sales that we’ve done with other organizations, but this is the first one we’ve done with U.D.,” said Kelly Sexton, Director of Programs and Education. “We’ve got a lot of great pieces and it will all be here and ready for purchase on Saturday."
The visual arts center, which offers classes and workshops from kindergarten through to adult ages, is currently focused on upgrading their building’s heating and air conditioning system with money raised from the sale. The 35,000-square foor building is more than 100 years old.
