Front Street Experience Gallery

  • A new gallery to Dayton, this showcases artists who have their studios located in The Front Street Buildings artist community.
  • One side will showcase and sell art from all the artists at Front Street. The other side will display work from a featured Front Street artist, and will be rotated monthly.
  • The Front Street Experience will feature rotating displays of artists, and will open this Friday at 16 Brown St., where it is co-located with Pop-Up Shop graduate Spice Paradise.

“We here at Front Street Building have two- to three-dozen artists,” said Krysten Smith, leasing manager. “We’re branching off and opening a gallery for guests to preview what is to [be expected] throughout the building.”

For the first month, the new gallery’s featured artists are retired educators from the local art museum: Connie Grant and Mary Beth Whitley.

“They’re educators from the Dayton Art Institute, and this is a place where they come to create,” Smith said.

INDEX Gallery

  • This gallery will feature different students from the University of Dayton, who have been selected for the exhibit.

“It’s a way to give people a look at all of the different types of art and a preview of what to see,” Smith said. “We are interested in bringing art to Dayton. There is a ton of talent here, and we want to show that in our building.”

The event is open to the public and will be offering refreshments and snacks including wine and cheese.
