“Sam Houston and the Alamo Avengers” recounts the story of Texan settlers avenging the deaths of nearly 250 people massacred in San Antonio in 1836 by the Mexican army.
Kilmeade’s book explores how, on March 6, 1836, the Mexican army led by Gen. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna killed Texans who had been trapped in a former Spanish mission in San Antonio for 13 days. The legendary Jim Bowie and Davy Crockett died there, along with other Americans who had moved to Texas looking for a fresh start. But the dramatic events at the Alamo are only the beginning of Kilmeade’s book.
“Sam Houston and the Alamo Avengers” recaptures the pivotal days in the future state of Texas that would change America forever. Kilmeade takes readers on a journey from from Gonzalez to Goliad and on to San Jacinto as he reintroduces the famous events to a new generation of readers.
