Comedy, magic and nudity provide the enticing appeal of “The Naked Magicians,” the latest presentation on the Victoria Theatre Association’s Project Unlimited Star Attractions slated Friday, Feb. 17 at the Victoria Theatre.

Direct from Australia, the adults-only show stars the saucy duo of Mike Tyler and Christopher Wayne. A former competitive swimmer who is also a skilled comedic hypnotist, Tyler has performed in 10 countries around the world. He is particularly considered one of Australia’s most sought-after entertainers having performed over 250 “clothed” shows for large companies and sporting teams. Wayne notably became the first Australian magician in TV history to have his own TV series, “More Than Magic,” which aired in Australia, New Zealand, England, and the U.S. He also spent four years as the head comedy writer for Queensland, Australia’s breakfast radio show “B105” and continues to do guest spots on several radio stations in Australia.

“The Naked Magicians” have played to sold-out houses and have received rave reviews across the globe including London’s West End, Canada, Asia and New Zealand. The current U.S. tour includes engagements in Boston, New York, Detroit, Washington, D.C., Denver, San Diego, Atlanta, and Chicago. According to producers, “This boisterous R-rated magic show strips away the top hats and capes, promising full frontal illusions. Good magicians don’t need sleeves and great magicians don’t need pants. This show proves just that!” The duo has also won over critics. In fact, Aspire Magazine heralded them as “devilishly cheeky, hilarious and all-in-all, very solid.” Theatre People praised the show’s “expert magic, wonderful comedy and likeable, toned performers.”

Every so often the VTA inserts a provocative show on its lineup to great success. “The Naked Magicians” are basically in the same titillating vein as the rip-roaring national tour of “50 Shades! The Musical Parody” that played the Victoria Theatre in 2015.

“Mike and Chris are fabulous, funny magicians,” said Diane Schoeffler-Warren, Victoria Media and Public Relations Manager. “The show is selling well and the audience is sure to have a great night of entertainment.”
