A gaggle of clowns are going to make Dayton feel all funny inside from 9:30 p.m to 2:30 a.m. Friday, May 13, at Vex, 101 S. St. Clair St. in downtown Dayton.

That's bound to happen when you mix clowns and burlesque for an evening of anything but PC debauchery.

"They are hilarious. It is an adult show for sure," said event organizer Mary Kathryn Burnside, a recent Daytonian of the Week.  "They are definitely sexy circus clowns. Clowns creep people out. It is like 'are you turned on or are you creeped out?' "

The show stars the aforementioned trio of sexy, tattooed clowns  from Philadelphia-based Thunder Snow Cone Variety recently featured in Hustler magazine's clown edition: Scarlett Storm: "mistress of whimsy, the circus squeal and a very silly woman;" Smurfasaur: "the upside down clown and clumsiest woman in all of show biz; and Asha Rabbi: "clown babe, alt model and a performance artist and professional weirdo."

Expect the unusual.

Burnside said Scarlett Storm killed it at Horrorhound Convention near Cincinnati, where she dressed as a chicken for Easter.

"All three of them are absolutely fantastic," Burnside said. "It is more of a comedy show. They get the crowd really into it with crowd participation."

Burnside, the owner of Clash Dayton in the Oregon District, is sprinkling in food sold by the Wicked Wich food truck, music from DJ Dust Bunny and a performance by Soul Fire Tribe of Yellow Springs, in addition to an all-medium live clown painting competition for good measure.

"Everybody is going to do something different, and the crowd will be able to judge the best clown," she said. "Some people will be using a canvas. Some of it will be using a person as a canvas."
