From J.R. Smith to Luke Kennard, Flyin’ to the Hoop always features future stars

Franklin High School’s Luke Kennard

If the first 14 years of the Flyin’ to the Hoop High School Basketball Invitational are any indication, there will be plenty of future stars in action in January.

A mere look at the players who have been named to the event all-star team revealed nearly two-dozen players who went on to make names for themselves in college if not blossom into full-blown NBA All-Stars.

Daequan Cook, Dunbar, Ohio State
Dunbar High School alum Daequan Cook did not win an NBA title, but came close as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Cook, a former Ohio State forward, played in three games in the 2012 NBA Finals before LeBron James and the Miami Heat won their first of two league championships.
