Cox Media Group in Dayton, Ohio has an immediate need for a Social Content Producer.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Social Content Producers are key drivers of a modern website’s eco-system. They create, rewrite, refashion or aggregate localized content for our websites that is optimized to bring in search and social visits. Typically, the content augments, rather than duplicates, the work of existing reporters and photographers. This individual’s success is measured by visits to the site. This job will be 50 percent content aggregation, curation and creation and 50 percent social promotion both onsite and offsite to ensure content hits desired targets for visits.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a part-time position projected to work between 25-29 hours per week.
JOB DUTIES
- Monitors other websites and social media channels to identify items of content that can be localized
- Uses aggregation tools to identify items of content that can be published to local websites
- Creates between 10-50 items of content per day, depending on the level of complexity
- Writes headlines, selects and attaches images and posts to social using approved accounts or tools
- Content types include simple aggregations, rewrite/write-throughs, photo galleries, memes and gifs
- Monitors metrics on a per post basis to improve results over time
- Builds or tags content to appropriate lists for publication
- Adheres to appropriate guidelines for ethics, style and taste

- Produces clean work requiring no editing or rewrite

- Ability to read and interpret social, page view and visit metrics

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, social media or related media field or equivalent experience.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience creating content for a business-to-consumer website.
Additional requirements: Established social media presence on various platforms. Interest particularly in Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Reddit, Vine, Google+. (Candidates should supply handles for verification.) Photoshop skills preferred.
