Bradley Cooper was spotted in Yellow Springs today at a hush-hush screening of his new movie, “A Star is Born” at the Little Art Theatre.

Cooper stars in the film along with Lady Gaga, and Yellow Springs resident Dave Chappelle. The film, which opens nationwide today, marks Cooper’s directorial debut and is already getting Oscar buzz.

The special event included a Q&A with both superstars. Cooper plays Jackson Maine, a singer-songwriter suffering from the excess of being on top. He meets and mentors a young singer, Ally (Lady Gaga). The film follows their relationship. Chappelle plays Noodles, a good friend to Cooper’s character.

Chappelle’s daughter, Sanaa, also has a role in the film.

Cooper said he traveled to Yellow Springs twice to convince Chappelle to take this role. One of those trips was to Chappelle’s famous Juke Joint in 2016, which Cooper said inspired a wedding scene in the film.
