“We are beyond ecstatic,” says Kristin George, who nominated her husband for the “Hot Dads Photo Contest” competition after her mom called from Florida to share the announcement.
The online contest is sponsored by ivillage.
Finalists in each category will appear on the program June 12 and one grand-prize winner will receive a trip and additional prizes.
“Who would have thought that the hottest dad in America might live right here in Dayton, Ohio,” his wife says.
George, 33, grew up in Centerville, played football for the University of Dayton and now works at LexisNexis.
His wife nominated him in the “Newbie Dads” category, which includes fathers who have children less than a year old.
The couple had a baby, Jenna, just eight weeks ago.
“I submitted a photo and the description had to be less than 140 characters,” says Kristin. “That was hard because David is an amazing person.”
Her husband, she says, epitomizes what a great husband and dad should be.
“What I love most about David is his gentle heart and genuine kindness to others,” Kristin says.
“He exudes a contagious enthusiasm for life, anchored by a strong faith, not to mention he has a sense of humor that will have you smiling and laughing so much it will add new wrinkles to your face.
“Best of all,” she says, “he always demonstrates an attentiveness to me and our daughter, leaving us with the feeling that we are the only two people in his world.”
Her husband says he appreciates the support he’s had for the contest from family and friends.
Not to mention his loving wife.
“We’ve only been married a little less than a year so apparently we’re still in the honeymoon phase because she still thinks I’m her hot husband and a father at that,” he said.
