Marianne Fink is a firm believer that “healing is an inside job.”

“Many people focus on their physical fitness without recognizing that the self-care piece is just as important,” Fink said. “Living a more conscious, aware life is so important because it means we are changing from the inside out.”

The longtime bodyworker and licensed massage therapist has focused on helping her clients gain a greater self awareness for the past two decades. Fink recently expanded her practice to downtown Dayton as co-owner of the Wellness Studio Dayton, 114 N. St. Clair St. The Wellness Studio, with another location at Harmony Farm in Tipp City, is dedicated to the three Rs — relaxation, rejuvenation and restoration.

“People are looking at wellness in a broader way,” Fink said. “They are seeking, more than they ever have before, ways to be more balanced and more productive.”

Because finding that balance is a personal journey, the Wellness Studio offers a variety of services including, but not limited to: massage therapy, acupuncture, reflexology, thermography, facials and wellness coaching.

“There are so many different ways in which people can heal,” Fink said. “So, we offer a variety of modalities.”

With the recent uptick in downtown residential and business offerings, the time was right for Fink and her business partner Joseph Downing to venture into the Dayton market.

“Downtown has always held my heart, I’ve lived downtown since the early 2000s,” Fink said. “And there is nothing like this in the market.”

With four treatment rooms, the Wellness Studio can cater to the needs of multiple clients simultaneously. In addition to Fink, there will be several other massage therapists, estheticians and other wellness professionals sharing the space. The downtown location will also soon have retail offerings including fresh-pressed juices and all-natural, eco-sensitive and label transparent wellness and facial products. Workshops are also in the planning stage.

“My calling is as a healer and I approach it from many different capacities,” Fink said. “And there is not a section of the population that doesn’t benefit from self care.”

From children to seniors, Finke has worked with clients with a wide range of ages and ability levels. Among the many benefits she has seen is overall improvement in performance, rejuvenation and better sleep quality.

“The whole quality of life improves,” she said. “The more you know yourself, the more powerful you are in making impactful decisions about your life.”
