Cardio Dance in the Park
Fit N Fruitful’s Cardio Dance Fitness classes are geared toward anyone and everyone who likes to dance to upbeat music.
“Choreography covers a variety of dance styles while also incorporating basic weight bearing exercises,” said Meg Millat, Fit N Fruitful instructor. “Each dancer is encouraged to follow along the best they can, do what feels good for their body, and have fun.”
Think you might have two left feet or have a physical limitation or two? Not a problem.
“Participants are encouraged to substitute movements that may not agree with their body — such as marching or keeping feet planted — when the choreography includes jumping or squatting or lunging,” Millat said. “Our movements don’t all have to look the same.”
It’s all about having fun and, of course, burning some calories.
“Together we’ll get lost in the music and fueled by energy, resulting in a stellar cardio and strength workout,” she said.

Bootcamp in the Park
Strength and endurance training as well as a cardio workout — the new Bootcamp in the Park classes have it all.
“And the great thing about our program is that it’s really for everybody,” said Shawn Haffner of Beavercreek/Kettering Fit Body Boot Camp. “We have people who are 18 and amazing athletes and we have people who are 68 or 69 and had knee replacement surgery. Everything we do, can be modified.”
The bootcamp classes will have multiple instructors on site — one focusing on keeping the class energy level up and the other focusing on form.
“No matter how many people are in the class, there is a one-on-one feel,” Haffner said.
Participants will work through a variety of stations during this beginner-friendly, interval training class.

Yoga in the Park
RiverScape MetroPark is yoga instructor Tori Reynolds favorite outdoor venue.
“We always catch the breezes off the river no matter how hot the day is,” she said.
Reynolds, from Speakeasy Yoga, will lead a series of Vinyasa flow classes that are ideal for all levels — from beginners to experienced yogis.
“Breath and movement are linked together to create the ultimate meditative experience,” she said.
So whether the goal is fitness, flexibility, focus or fun, Fitness in the Park fits the bill.
