Three Springfield and two South Vienna homes will be decked out in holiday style this weekend for the annual Women’s Association of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra Home Tour and Cookie Sale.
The fundraiser for the orchestra welcomes visitors to a variety of residences from 1-4 p.m. Sunday.
Springfield homes will include those of Noah and Erin Ristau and daughters Grey and Ever, 274 S. Broadmoor Blvd.; Dan and Lisa Bourke, 121 S. Kensington Place; and Dr. Rod and Cindy Batie, 2400 Grant Road.
James and Cheryl Lamborn’s homestead at 4140 E. National Road and William and Polly Agle’s residence at 933 S. Urbana-Lisbon Road represent South Vienna.
Homemade cookies will be available for purchase at each home. The residences will be enhanced by floral arrangements provided by several local florists.
• The Ristaus have lived in their Ridgewood neighborhood home since 2010. It was built in 1939 and includes original woodwork, built-in bookcases and leaded glass windows, while the couple has added its own touches.
• Built in 1928, the Bourkes’ have made their residence home for 15 years. They’ve include traditional and colonial Christmas decor to enhance the seasonal spirit.
• Resting on 45 acres, the Batie home features traditional and modern design. They invite visitors to sample a hot cup of Wassail, a family recipe while visiting.
• Dating back more than two centuries, the National Road residence owned by the Lamborns has numerous 19th century touches and an interesting history.
• Originally purchased in the late 1850s by another party, the Agle family has made its home at what is now South Urbana-Lisbon Road since 1927. William and Polly Agle moved there in 2010 and done extensive remodeling, including new additions in fall 2014.
More information on the homes will be available on the tour. WASSO also sponsors a garden tour in the summer.
Advance tickets cost $15 apiece and are available in Springfield at the Symphony office, Katie’s Hallmark, Schneider’s Florist, Chandler House, Heart of Country, Frame Haven and Curves West.
Also available in Urbana at Bill’s Enchanted Florist and in Yellow Springs at Heaven on Earth Emporium.
Tickets may be purchased at any home on the tour for $20.
