However, he improved the quality of life, not just for the black people of the city, as he fought and protested for jobs and justice, but for all the residents of Dayton. He had the courage to show us that injustice and inequality hurts everyone.
This man was W.S. McIntosh. A city park in West Dayton was renamed for him and a scholarship program at the University of Dayton honors his memory. But this is small recognition for a man who did so much for this city. I end with a question. Where would Dayton be if there had been no W.S. McIntosh?
