The driver of a 2015 Dodge Journey with a second occupant was driving south on Findlay Street at an “excessive rate of speed when near Gateway Drive” when the driver lost control of her vehicle and hit the raised median, police wrote in a crash report.
The vehicle continued across the median and the opposite lanes of travel before mounting the east curb and traveling onto the shoulder. She then continued across the grass area near the volleyball club, and hit a telephone communications box.
The Dodge Journey vehicle continued to travel and ended up in the parking lot where it hit a 2004 Buick LeSabre and a 2009 Cadillac STS, which damaged both vehicles.
The vehicle then continued traveling until it hit the fence surrounding the volleyball courts and coming to a final stop.
Police said the driver of Dodge Journey was seriously injured in the crash and removed by medics before being sent to Miami Valley Hospital. No other injuries were reported.
