Dayton police said the crash happened when a vehicle went left of center and crashed into vehicles driving the opposite direction. The driver of the first vehicle was taken to a local hospital in life-threatening condition.
People from all three vehicles were taken to local hospitals, but only the first driver suffered critical injuries.
The road was closed in the area of Argella Avenue and Marimont Drive.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dayton Police Department Traffic Services Unit.
