Montgomery County Auditor Karl Keith has announced two additional community forums to talk about the 2023 property value update.

Forums already were scheduled for Dayton Metro Library branches for 6:15-7:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Huber Heights branch at 6243 Brandt Pike; and 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the Brookville branch, 120 Blue Pride Drive.

The new community forums will be held from 6-7 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Germantown Public Library, 51 N. Plum St., and from 6-7 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Centerville Library, 111 W. Spring Valley Road.

At each forum, the auditor’s office said that Keith will discuss how his officer determines new property values, what owners can do if they disagree with the new value and answer questions from the audience.

The forums came after the auditor announced 96% of the residential parcels in the county will see their taxable value increase, so most people would see an increase in the property taxes in 2024. Increased housing values came from the county’s recent strong housing market, with sales increasing property values in Montgomery County by $8.5 billion, a 30% increase.

Forums previously were held during the summer before the auditor said that high interest in the events led him to hold more. In early September the office announced seven more forums.
