A Greenville man was flown to the hospital after a crash in Jackson Township, Darke County Wednesday afternoon.

The crash was reported at 4:38 p.m. at the intersection of Young and Zumbrum roads, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said that initial investigation found that Don Frazier, 78, of Greenville, was driving a blue 2008 Ford Ranger southbound on Young Road when he was hit by a black 2004 Chevrolet Malibu traveling west on Zumbrum Road.

The Malibu seems to have driven through the stop sign without stopping, the sheriff’s office said.

Both vehicles went off the road, and the Ranger flipped over onto its top.

Emergency crews extracted Frazier from the flipped pickup truck, and CareFlight flew him to Miami Valley Hospital.

The driver of the Malibu fled the scene, possibly on foot, the sheriff’s office said.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office were assisted at the scene by Union City Fire and Rescue. The crash remains under investigation.
