An 18-year-old is facing charges after he reportedly shot a person who was trying to buy a gun in Dayton last week.

Isaiah Keith Dixon was charged with four counts of felonious assault and two counts of aggravated robbery in Dayton Municipal Court.

On Saturday, Dayton police responded to Kettering Health Dayton for a shooting victim.

“When speaking to the victim that had been shot, he stated he had been shot while attempting to buy a handgun,” an affidavit read. “(He) stated the suspect stole $230 and the handgun that he was to purchase.”

He was shot in the leg during a struggle.

Dixon then reportedly shot at the vehicle the buyer was in as it left.

Investigators went to the scene of the shooting, an alley in the 900 block of Harvard Avenue, and collected multiple shell casings and other evidence.

The buyer met Dixon, known as “Zay Low,” on Facebook, according to court records. Officers identified Zay Low as Dixon following an investigation.

Police arrested Dixon at a house in Trotwood Monday evening. He attempted to flee but was taken into custody.

Officers recovered three handguns at the house, according to court records.

Dixon is being held in the Montgomery County Jail as of Thursday morning.
