Cincinnati breaks 75-year-old rain record

Cincinnati saw record-breaking rainfall today, the National Weather Service in Wilmington reported. The city reportedly saw nearly three inches of rainfall, breaking a record previously set in 1946.

On June 19, Cincinnati saw a total of 2.73 inches of rainfall. The previous record for rainfall on this date, set in 1946, was 2.6 inches, the NWS said.

Today was also the fifth highest single-day rainfall event for the month of June in 150 years, the NWS said.

Combined with yesterday’s rain, Cincinnati saw 3.72 inches of rain, the third highest two-day total for the month of June, the NWS said.
