A two-day pool party and sleepovers with up to 50 people in Miamisburg could lead to a coronavirus outbreak.

Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County is trying to track down dozens and dozens of teens — many students from Miamisburg High School plus others from surrounding districts — who attended the party because one person was infected with COVID-19 during the party, the agency announced Thursday evening.

“If you, or anyone you know, was at this two-day pool party or sleepover held on July 11 and 12 in Miamisburg, you may have been exposed to the virus and could be infected,” the release stated.

The public health agency does not have contact information for all of those who attended the pool party, which also involved sleepovers at two locations. Contact tracing is a key public health strategy to stop the spread of communicable diseases, including COVID-19.

Anyone who attended is urged to call Public Health at 937-818-6715. Also, attendees are asked to monitor themselves for symptoms and contact their health care provider should symptoms develop. Public Health will provide instructions for self-quarantine, monitoring symptoms and testing as needed, the agency said.
