Today is the last day for bars and restaurants with liquor licenses to apply to receive a $2,500 grant from Ohio’s Bar & Restaurant Assistance Fund.

To apply for the program, the Ohio Department of Commerce said that all businesses need is their liquor permit number and federal tax ID. Applications are online at businesshelp.ohio.gov.

The grants are part of a CARES Act spending package that Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted announced in late October. The bar and restaurant assistance program was allocated $37.5 million.

The spending package included millions of dollars each for funds to benefit several groups, including arts organizations, nonprofits, colleges and universities, rural and critical access hospitals, agencies offering rent and utility assistance and small businesses.
